What we collect, and why.
We collect the little we need to answer you, we keep it inside the Pharos escalation chain, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. The long version is below, in plain language.
Who we are
Pharos is a South African managed aerial security service. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice.

- Phone and WhatsApp: 074 132 8500
What this notice covers
This notice covers what happens on this website: the enquiry form on the home page, and the site self check where you outline your property and send it to us.
It does not cover footage or operational records from a live Pharos service. Those are governed by your service agreement, with their own retention clock, signage and access rules.
What we collect
- Your name, and the email address or phone number you give us.
- Your organisation, and anything you choose to tell us about the site.
- On the site self check: the outline you draw on the map, the size and centre point it works out, and your four answers about the site.
- Your IP address, kept only to stop the form being abused, and cleared well before the rest of the record.
There are no cookies on this site, no advertising trackers, and no account to create. Your outline, your answers and your details stay in your browser until you press send. Two things do leave it while you work: what you type in the address search goes to OpenStreetMap so it can find the place, and the satellite imagery comes from Esri, so both of them see the area you are looking at.
Why we collect it
To answer you, and to prepare the site assessment you asked for. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone else for their own marketing.
On the site self check we rely on your consent, which you give when you tick the box before sending. On the enquiry form we rely on your request: you asked us to get in touch, and replying properly is our legitimate interest and yours. Either way you can tell us to stop at any time.
Giving it is voluntary
You never have to use these forms. If you would rather not type anything here, call or WhatsApp us on 074 132 8500 instead. If you do use them, we ask for a name and a way to reach you, because without those we cannot come back with an assessment. That is the only consequence of leaving anything out.
Who sees it
The founders, and the people preparing your assessment. Behind that sit the service providers who host this site, relay the email and store the record. Each is used for that one job and nothing else, and we keep that list as short as we can. Ask us who they are and we will tell you.
Three others see something before you ever press send, simply because the page is built on them. If you use the address search, what you type goes to OpenStreetMap so it can find the place. The satellite imagery comes from Esri, which means it sees the area you are looking at. The map software and the typeface are fetched from Cloudflare and Google, which means they see your IP address. We do not instruct any of them, and we do not receive anything back from them about you.
Where it is kept
Some of the services this site is built on, and some of those that receive and store what you send, sit outside South Africa. That includes the map, imagery and font providers named above. Where that happens, section 72 of POPIA applies, and we hold our own providers to the standard we owe you. Ask us where your record sits and we will tell you.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry only as long as we need it to answer you, to prepare an assessment and to follow it up, and then we delete it.
You do not have to wait for the clock. Ask us to delete your record and we will do it.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You may withdraw your consent at any time. Email info@pharosaerial.co.za and we will act on it.
Our Information Officer is the head of the business, reachable at the same address.
If we get it wrong
Tell us first, and we will fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at any time.
